How to get the DNI for foreigners in Argentina

All those foreigners who are entitled to enter and stay in Argentina can start the procedure to issue the ID, “Documento Nacional de Identidad” (DNI) for foreigners, in Argentina.

The DNI can be issued by two means:

-         “Por ventanilla unica”: This way, you can start the residency and the DNI procedures together. This can be done in the head office entitled by the “Dirección Nacional de Migraciones” (DNM) [Migration office].

x200más: An Eclectic Exhibition of Argentine Art in Buenos Aires

During summer, Buenos Aires does not stop its artistic activities and proposes an interesting exhibition at Centro Cultural Recoleta, which aims to present a collage of unfinished projects to pursue over the next 200 years of Argentine history. The exhibition is called x200más (for 200 more years) and is driven by a group of citizens who chose different projects from various disciplines.

This exhibition offers a view over Argentine history and proposes to start from Argentine bicentennial to end or solve some problems affecting the population. Among realizable or utopian ideas, the idea hidden in x200más is to gather lots of artists and to promote their different works.

Summer in the City Festival

Summer in Buenos Aires is characterized by an intense movement. Carlos Gardel Museum

Buenos Aires music is an art that people breath in every corner and is considered an important symbol, specially in the case of Tango. Since its popular origins, this musical genre has built up some talented icons: Carlos Gardel is undoubtedly one of them.

Abasto neighborhood was the place were this artist grew and developed his talent. For that reason, the city pays hommage permanently to him by means of the statute, the names of the streets and also the Carlos Gardel Museum: located in the house where the artist lived with his mother, it was refurnished by Museum General Office (Dirección General de Museos) in order to turn it into a museum devoted to recover, preserve, exhibit and promote the work of Gardel.

Temporary Rental Vs. Traditional Rental in Buenos Aires

Before deciding to rent an apartment in Buenos Aires City to stay
permanently or temporarily, it is important to know the differences and
similarities offered by temporary rentals and traditional rentals.

The main similarity is that both are governed by the same regulation:
the Urban Rental Act No. 23,091 (Ley de Locaciones Urbanas). In
traditional rentals, the contract period extends for 2 years while, in
temporary rentals, it can be up to 6 months maximum (no minimum).

In the temporary rent, the apartment comes fully furnished and equipped
while in the traditional rental it is usually rented unfurnished.
